How can I protect my data?

Store research data in a trusted repository

They are experts of data preservation incl. Backing-up, refreshment and migration and data retention

Register the data with a persistent identifier (DOI)

This makes your data citable, discoverable and cleary associates your data with you

Choose a suitable license

I.e. Creative Commons – preferable a share-alike license which ensures that the results based on your data are open access too

What is a Creative Commons License?

  • Standard license contracts for any type of work (text, pictures, videoclips, data etc.)
  • Different user rights can be defined

CC0 1.0 for DOI metadata
