Services for Research Data

KomFor is the link between research and community based data facilities, libraries and journals collaborating to improve the quality and availability of research data in the earth sciences. The way to achieve this is by building sustainable and reliable ways for data publications in line with quality standards in scientific publishing. KomFor provides access to data publishing resources for projects, institutes, research groups, and individual reseachers, spanning the entire life-cycle of research data.

Objectives

The Competence Center is proposed as link between Geoscientific facilities and an existing archive network for earth and environmental data in Germany. KomFor generally aims at improving the overall availability and quality of data in a sustainable way.

Merger of Databib and re3data.org, first version of API available

On the occasion of the Research Data Alliance’s Fifth Plenary Meeting, re3data is pleased to report progress in the consolidation of the Databib and re3data.org initiatives into a shared registry and website and to announce the availability of an Application Programming Interface (API) to enable machine access to the merged registry.

survey on current and future evaluation of research data impact

The Research Data Alliance/ World Data Service (RDA/WDS) Publishing Data Bibliometrics Working Group is conducting a survey to investigate the viability of bibliometrics for data. We would like to invite all data producers, users, managers and publishers to complete the survey to tell us how you currently evaluate the impact of data, and how you would wish to do so in the future.
